Salford City's manager search continues after Dave Challinor joined Blackburn Rovers. Challinor left Stockport County by mutual consent after a 4-1 loss to Bolton Wanderers in the League One play-offs. The 50-year-old former Stockport boss has chosen to replace Michael O'Neill at Ewood Park. O'Neill had just saved Rovers from dropping out of the Championship in a job-share role with Northern Ireland. He turned down the chance to remain at Ewood and instead signed a new four-year contract to stick with his country. Salford, run by ex-Manchester United legends Gary Neville and David Beckham, will now renew their hunt for a new boss. The club's search for a new manager comes after Karl Robinson was sacked despite leading the team to their best ever season. Robinson was let go despite his impressive achievements, leaving the club to search for a new manager to take the reins.
