Salford City winger Kyrell Malcolm has joined AFC Fylde on a three-month loan deal. The move gives the 19-year-old a chance for regular senior football while Salford focus on their promotion push from the top of League Two.

Craig Mahon's confidence

AFC Fylde head coach Craig Mahon facilitated the signing and spoke about the young winger's potential. "We believe he has the qualities to make a big impact here," Mahon told the club's website.

Malcolm's Salford background

Malcolm is a product of Salford's academy and has made 20 first-team appearances for the club, scoring once. He made history in February 2024 when, aged 16, he became Salford's youngest-ever league player in a draw against Colchester United.

The loan was announced ahead of AFC Fylde's FA Cup fourth qualifying round tie this weekend. Malcolm departs a Salford side sitting first in the table with 19 points from 10 games. Their recent form includes a 2-0 win at Cheltenham last time out.

Salford City's next League Two fixture is at home to Crawley Town on 17 October.
